Amgen Scholars Program is awarding fully funded Research opportunities to the students so they can do their undergraduate in the scientific research Projects. Faculty members will provide research opportunities to the selected students in different fields of study. The Amgen Scholar Program provides research opportunities for hands-on experience for the benefit of the students that can be useful in pursuing their careers. Amgen Scholars is hosted at four premier educational institutions in Asia and multiple countries outside Asia like US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. Undergraduates enrolled at universities in Asia are eligible to apply to participate at one of the host institutions. Each host institution has its application process. Financial Coverage:
Amgen Scholars program is offering the following financial benefits for international students:
- Accommodation will be provided by the UTokyo
- 270,000 JPY Stipend will also be provided to the students that will cover the food and living expenses for them.
- For Program Participation economy class airfare tickets to Tokyo or round trip train tickets to Tokyo will also be covered by the organization.
- Candidates need to arrange their own insurance or medical care
Program Features:
Amgen Scholars Program will feature the following during the full-time work at the laboratory:
- Special seminars and sessions where students can meet and have discussions

Amgen Scholar Program is offering admissions to 10 students for the academic year 2025.
Duration:
The duration of the Amgen Scholars Program is about 8 weeks from June 5, 2025, to August 1, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who are undergraduate students must follow the following educational requirements for the Amgen Scholars Program:
- Candidates must attend colleges or universities across the Asia region* that award a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent); and
- Candidates must At the minimum, have completed their first year of undergraduate study at the time the summer program begins, and
- Candidates must not graduate before the summer program begins, and will resume undergraduate studies for at least 1 semester or 1 quarter after the summer program ends
Candidates need to meet the following requirements for the Amgen Scholars Program:
- Candidates must have a strong record of academic performance; and
- Candidates must have a good working knowledge of English, demonstrated by a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 72, IELTS overall band score of 5.5, Cambridge English FCE, TOEIC score of 1095, TOEIC L&R score of 785, or TOEIC S&W score of 310, if not a native English speaker or if English is not their first language
- Candidates must Have an interest in pursuing a Ph.D.
