Schwarzman Scholars supports up to 200 Scholars annually from the U.S., China, and worldwide for a one-year master’s in global affairs at Beijing’s Tsinghua University — ranked first in Asia as an indispensable base for China’s political, business, and technological leadership. Applications for the Schwarzman Scholars program opened in April and it will be closed in May 2024 the final list of candidates will selected in September 2024. Scholars chosen for this highly selective program will live in Beijing for a year of study and cultural immersion — attending lectures, traveling around the region, and developing a better understanding of China. Admissions opened in the fall of 2015 with outstanding success, immediately making Schwarzman Scholars one of the world’s most selective graduate and fellowship programs.
Schwarzman Scholars is designed to meet the challenges of the 21st century and beyond. It was inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship, which was founded in 1902 to promote international understanding and peace.

Scholarship Advantages:

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree to apply
- Candidates must be between 18 to 28 years of age as of 1st August of the current Year
- Candidates can apply from China, the USA, and other parts of the world
- Applicants from all fields are eligible
- Candidates must have a good academic record
- Applicants must demonstrate strong English skills, as all teaching will be conducted in English. If the applicant’s native language is not English, official English proficiency test scores must be submitted with the application.
Deadline:
The last date to apply for the Schwarzman Scholars Program is May 20, 2024; for Chinese students, the deadline for international students is September 12, 2024.
