Benefits:

Candidates who will join the UN as Civil servants through Young Professional Program will get the following benefits:

  • Highly competitive Salary relevant to positions at the UN
  • Salaries, grants, and allowances paid by the United Nations are normally exempt from income tax.
  • Salary will be post-adjusted according to your duty station at the UN
  • Rental Subsidy will be provided
  • Dependency allowances will be provided if you have family or children

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for the UN Young Professional Program:

  • Candidates must be citizens of eligible countries
  • Candidates must hold at least a first-level university degree relevant for the exam(at least a relevant Bachelor’s degree or a 3-year equivalent degree)
  • The maximum age of the candidates should not be more than 32 years
  • Candidates must be fluent in English or French

Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Malta, Marshall Islands, Micronesia(Federated States of), Monaco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Norway, Oman, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, São Tomé and Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Sudan, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, United ArabEmirates, United States of America, Vanuatu.

YPP Examination:

YPP is an entrance examination to start a career with the United Nations (UN) Secretariat.Every year, countries that are- or under-represented in the UN are invited to take part in the examination process

Area of Test:

YPP will take tests in the following areas:

Economic Affairs

Social & Behavioural Science, Mathematics & Statistics, Business & Administration, Environmental Protection, Agriculture, Forestry & Fishery.

Information Technology and Security

Mathematics & Statistics, Engineering & Engineering, Trades, Business & Administration, Physical Sciences.

The last date to apply for the UN Young Professional Program is 29th June 2023.

How to Apply:

Candidates must follow the following steps for the application procedure at United Nations:

  • Interested candidates can apply via Inspira
  • Firstly confirm your eligibility
  • Prepare your application after signing up at Inspira
  • Candidate’s applications will be evaluated according to the criteria and it will be held n AUGUST TO October
  • An online assessment test will be held between November to March
  • Interviews and results will be declared next year between March to July
