Applications are invited for the ARES Scholarship Program in Belgium. Belgium’s Government has announced a scholarship Program for international students. International students in need of financial assistance and want to study in Belgium can apply for the ARES scholarship program that the Balgium Government sponsors for the academic year 2025-2026. These scholarships are for candidates who want to pursue their master’s degree or training courses and can apply for the Belgium ARES Scholarship Program.

A variety of fields have been offered under this scholarship Program and candidates can study for 1 to 2 years for the master’s degree and 6 months for any training course. International candidates of any nationality can apply for the ARES Scholarship Program for the academic year 2025-2026. Through this scholarship candidates will able to pursue their 1 year Bachelors, master’s program or training courses in Belgium.

Within the ARES Scholarship program framework, three types of training are offered under Scholarships: Advanced Bachelor, Advanced Master, and Continuing education program. Each year Balgium government WARD awards 220 international deserving scholars for the Belgium scholarships.

Financial Coverage:
Following financial coverage will be provided for master’s and Bachelors students:
- Round Airfare tickets will be covered
- The duration of the scholarship is 12 month
- 700 euros will be provided once per stay in terms of arrival allowances like arrival allowance, tuition fees, and return fee
- 200 euros will be provided once in a stay upon arrival of Guarantee
- Registration Fee
- Insurance Fee will be covered
- Travel costs will also be provided to the selected candidates

Following financial coverage will be provided for 6 months of training courses:
- Round International Airfare tickets will be provided
- Living Allowances will also be provided:
- 93 €/day for stays lasting 8 to 17 days
- 1500 €/month for stays lasting 18 days to 1 month (set amount)
- 1500 €/month for stays lasting 1 to 6 months, prorated to the number of days
- 200 euros will be provided once in a stay upon arrival of Guarantee
- Insurance fee will also be provided
- Travel Expenses will also be covered
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must meet the following criteria for the eligibility of the Balgium Government ARES Scholarship Program:

- Candidates must be less than 40 years of age
- Candidates must be a citizens of any eligible country mentioned above
- Candidates must have the relevant degree in which they are going to apply
- Candidates must have a relevant and strong academic background
- Candidates must have strong reading English Proficiency
- Complete the application in the language in which the training is given and can attest a good written and spoken knowledge of it. Moreover, knowing a minimum of French allows for a good integration into daily life in Belgium.
- Candidates can apply for only one training course
- Applicants should not obtain prior admission to one of the French-speaking institutions in Belgium to be considered for the ARES scholarship.
Deadline:
The last date to apply for the ARES Scholarship Program in Belgium is 18th October 2024 for the academic year 2025-2026.
Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Program
Documents Required:
The following documents are required for the Balgium Government ARES Scholarship Program:
- Certified copies of academic certificates
- Certified copies of original Transcripts of all years
- Certificate of Nationality or copy of ID card
- Proof of Occupation of last 5 years
- Pre Projects of certain training courses
How to Apply:
The application procedure is online via the GIRAF Platform candidates need to follow the following steps:
- Candidates must activate a GIRAF account for registration
- you must only click once on the “International training application 2024-2025” button. You will then find your form in the My tasks table of the Competitive Calls.
- The application form is free of cost
- Candidates need to fill out that application form
- After filling form attach all the relevant documents and submit it online
- After submitting the application form you will o longer able to edit that form
