UST leverages 30 government-funded research institutes as Schools to offer degree programs. UST students pursue both academic studies and research at government-funded research institutes known as “UST Schools” to earn their degrees. UST helps student researchers engage in self-directed learning by identifying and solving problems on-site while conducting research instead of asking them to receive passively theory-centered education delivered traditionally.

University of Science and Technology offers these scholarships in almost all study fields of Science, engineering, and technology. Candidates first look at their field of interest and then apply for the UST awards. The best part about the UST integrated program is that it enables obtaining a doctoral degree without requiring the submission of a master’s thesis or admission process for a doctoral program. Furthermore, if students fail to pass the PhD qualification process or drop out halfway, but meet the requirements for obtaining a master’s degree, they can be awarded a master’s degree.

Financial Benefits:
University of Science and Technology will award the following monthly stipend to the selected international candidates:
Pierre Elliot Trudeau Scholarship Program in Canada
- UST will offer a 1,350,000 KRW monthly stipend to the Master’s students
- UST will also offer a 1,800,000 KRW Monthly stipend for the students of PhD programs

Scholarships for women in the USA
Individuals whose parents both hold foreign nationality need to meet the following criteria:
1) Master’s program/Integrated program
a) Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree
b) Individuals expected to obtain a Bachelor’s degree by February 28 2025
c) Individuals acknowledged to hold qualifications deemed equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree according to applicable laws and regulations
d) Cases other than those mentioned above should provide a supplementary document to prove the equivalency
) Ph.D. program
a) Individuals with a Master’s degree
b) Individuals expected to obtain a Master’s degree by February 28 2025
c) Individuals acknowledged to hold qualifications deemed equivalent to or higher than a Master’s degree according to applicable laws and regulations

Candidates need to meet at least one language proficiency criteria:
General:
- TOEFL IBT: 79
- New TEPS: 277
- IELTS: 6 Bands
- TOPIK: 4
Hearing Impairment:
- TOEFL IBT: 20
- New TEPS: 166
- IELTS: 3 Bands
- Applicants are not allowed to apply for general admission, international admission, or industry cooperation research education programs simultaneously.
- Applicants applying for more than one admission type will have all of their applications revoked.

How to Apply:
Candidates need to follow the following steps for the UST application process:
- Select a category and complete the survey
- Access the UST Admission System (apply.ust.ac.kr) and sign up.
- Complete email verification and registration.
- Multiple applications are NOT permitted
- Select an admission category and complete the survey
- Add your personnel information with a photograph
- Enter your academic and research plan, candidates may enter up to 2,000 characters, spaces
- Upload all the required documents
- Also, upload the medical certificate
- Pay $30 or KRW 35000 application fee
- After the final submission, you will be able to print your admission application and Examination Slip
