USTC offers 36 undergraduate programs in 12 disciplines as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Life Science, Engineering Science, Electronic Information, Computer Science, Geophysics, Environmental Science, Economic Management and Nuclear Engineering.
The undergraduate programs in USTC are 4-year full-time study and mainly delivered in Chinese, with part of the courses taught in English or bilingually. A bachelor’s degree and graduation certificate will be awarded if the students finish all the required course work and pass the thesis defense. While Masters degree will be of 2 years full time study and Doctoral degree program will be of 3 to 4 years at University of Science and Technology of China.

Eligiblity Criteria:
Candidates have to meet the following eligiblity criteria for USTC scholarships in China:
- Candidates must be international citizens.
Undergraduate Program:
- Candidates who want to apply for the undergraduate degree must hold a High School Diploma or Chinese equivalent degree diploma
- The age of candidates must be less than 30 years by September 2023
- Applicants under 18 by Sept. 1st, 2024 should submit a Guardian Statement
- For the graduates to obtain their degrees in 2024, they should submit a Pre-graduation Certificate to ensure that they will complete their studies and obtain the degree by July of 2024.
Masters Program:
Candidates who want to apply for the Master’s degree must hold a graduation degree program
The age of candidates must be less than 35 years by September 2023
Doctoral Program:
- Candidates who want to apply for the Doctoral degree must have a Masters degree from a recognized institute
- Candidates’ age must be less than 40 years
- Candidates must have a Chinese language proficiency certificate or IELTS/ TOEFL as an English proficiency Certificate.
- Applicants who have been granted other Chinese scholarships or funds（2024-2025）cannot apply for this scholarship.

The USTC scholarships are open on 20th October and the last date to submit the online application is February 15th, 2024.

- Photocopy of passport (ordinary passport with validity of at least one year)
- A study or research proposal (no less than 800 words)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (with phone number and email address)
- Foreign physical diploma
- Applicants for programs instructed in Chinese must provide the photocopy of HSK certificate (at least level 4) or other proof of their Chinese language proficiency
- applicants for programs instructed in English must provide the photocopy of valid IELTS or TOEFL result or other proof of their English proficiency (except those whose mother tongue is English).
- hotocopy of degree certificate and academic transcripts for both Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree (if have) notarized by Ministry of Education or equivalent authority in your country
- Notarized translation in Chinese or English must be attached if the submitted documents are not in Chinese or English
- If applicants are already employed, they must provide official documents showing their status as on-post employees and permission of release.
