This is a fully funded scholarship from the British Council to female students who belong to science-related fields and are from countries where the female education ratio is low as compared to the male. As UNESCO data there are very less women who belong to fields like technology, mathematics, etc. Globally, female students’ enrolment is particularly low in Information and Communications Technology (three percent), natural science, mathematics, and statistics (five percent), and engineering, manufacturing, and construction (eight percent). So the British Council has taken the initiative over the past four years to give motivation to the ladies of the world to study in the STEM fields and be a part of the leading world.

Eligiblity Criteria:
Candidates need to meet the following requirements for the Women in STEM Scholarship Program: University of Auckland Scholarship Program for International students
- Non-British Female students are only eligible
- Students can take up a course of study in the UK for the academic year from September/October 2024–2025.
- They can demonstrate a need for financial support.
- have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain access to one of the pre-selected postgraduate courses at a UK university (for master’s level).
- can attain the level of English required for postgraduate study at a UK university.
- are active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in their subject area.
- are passionate about their course of study and are willing to engage as committed British Council scholarship alumni.
- Candidates who are an employee, a former employee, or a relative of an employee of the British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM-eligible countries are not eligible for this scholarship Program.
Scholarship Benefits:
Women STEM scholarships offered by the British Council will award the following benefits and cover the financial cost of the selected students: Australian awards scholarship program

- Visa and health coverage fees
- Refund of an IELTS English language test, if needed.
