Gates Cambridge fully funded scholarships for postgraduate studies. Each year Gates Foundation has awarded 80 fully funded scholarships to the talented and the most deserving students who are best in each field of life. Gates Foundation is one of the biggest donors of the Cambridge University. Gates Cambridge scholarship was first announced in 2001 and since then it has awarded fully funded 2000 scholarships to scholars from more than 100 countries.
Cambridge Gates scholarships are for the post-graduate and Ph.D. degree programs. Candidates in any field can get scholarships at the Postgraduate level and the two third of this scholarship Program goes to the Ph.D. degree programs. These 80 scholarships are divided into categories first round for US citizens and the second is for International students. In the first round, 25 scholarships will be offered to US students while the remaining 55 is for international students.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have the following eligibility criteria for the Gates Cambridge scholarship Program:
- Candidates outside the UK belonging to any Natoin can apply
- Candidates need to apply for a full-time degree for a Ph.D. program/ in MLitt or in a year course of any post-graduate program
- Candidates must have extraordinary intellectual ability
- Candidates must have solid reasons for the selection of each course
- Applicants must commit to helping society
- Candidates must have leadership qualities
- Extraordinary academic background required

Financial Coverage:
The following benefits will be covered by the Gates Cambridge fully funded scholarship Program:
- Full tuition fee coverage for the selected scholars
- 20000 pounds as a maintenance allowance for a single student (2 years for postgraduate program, 4 years for PhD degree Program)
- One economy airfare both for the start and at the end of the course
- inbound visa costs & the cost of the Immigration Health Surcharge
- Trust can also consider funding for the Acdamic development from up to £500 to up to £2,000
- Dependent child allowance can also be provided to selected scholars up to £11,604 for one child and up to £16,548 for two or more children.
- Maternity/ Parenting Funding can also be provided
- Hardship Funding for the unseen difficulties will also be provided

Almost all fields of study have been taught at Cambridge University UK. These Masters and Ph.D. programs will be taught in the English Language

Exception of Courses:
The following courses will not be covered under the Gates Cambridge scholarship Program:
- Any Undergraduate degree, such as a BA (undergraduate) or BA affiliated (a second BA)
- Business Doctorate (BusD)
- Master of Business (MBA)
- Master of Finance (MFin)
- MASt courses
- PGCE
- MBBChir Clinical Studies
- MD Doctor of Medicine degree (6 years, part-time, Home students only)
- Graduate Course in Medicine (A101)
- Part-time degrees other than the PhD
- Non-degree courses
Timeline:
- Applications for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship Program for the academic year 2025-2026 are opened on September 2024
- The last date depends upon the course for which candidates will be selected either 3rd December 2024 or 7th January 2025
- Result Notifications: March 2025
- Scholarship offered: by the end of March 2024
- Deadline for US Citizens: 16 October 2024

How to Apply:
All process for applying Gates Cambridge Scholarship Program is Online:
- Applicants submit their application for admission and funding (Gates Cambridge and other financing) via the University’s Graduate Application Portal.
- To be considered for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship Applicants must complete the section to apply for admission to a course, a College place, and the Gates Cambridge part of the funding section.
- Gates Cambridge has access to the full application for admission and funding when reviewing applications.

You can apply to be considered for most University funding through your course application in the Applicant Portal.
In the funding section of the portal, tick the box: ‘Yes – I wish to apply for funding’.
You will then be considered for:
