GREAT Scholarships in UK| British Council

This a great opportunity for candidates who want to study in the United Kingdom. British Council has announced scholarships for international students from different countries of the world. Great Scholarship allows international students from 15 different countries of the world to study in master’s programs at universities in the UK. British Council offers a variety of scholarships in multiple disciplines of studies for master’s programs and aims to promote diversity and excellence in British higher education. Each scholarship is jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council with participating UK higher education institutions, to promote the quality of education for international students. GREAT Scholarships offer students from 15 countries the opportunity to have £10,000 towards their tuition fees for a wide range of one-year taught postgraduate courses. In the 2024-25 academic year, 210 scholarships are offered by 71 universities across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Candidates who want to study at UK Institutes must be concerned with their country or the UK embassy in their home countries. On the British Council’s official website, candidates will find each country’s dedicated page and they will get a comprehensive list of universities that provide scholarships to students from that specific nation, details of which courses are covered by these scholarships, and how to apply.

British Council’s GREAT scholarships are available for students from the following countries along with list of universities:  Do you want to study at SIIT in Thailand?

• Turkey
• Vietnam

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates need to meet the following criteria for the GREAT Scholarship Program in the UK:  A great opportunity to study in the USA:  Rotary Peace Scholarship Program

• Candidates must be citizens of the eligible countries
• applicants must have an undergraduate degree, be motivated, and have an interest in the proposed subject area
• They must meet the English language requirement of the UK HEI
• Candidates must establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
• They must be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK
• Candidates must be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships
• Candidate as an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about their own experience of studying in the UK

Scholarship Value:

• Candidates will get £10,000 towards their tuition fee for a wide range of their one postgraduate program at UK institutes for 2024 and 2025.
• As part of the program, all GREAT scholars will be invited to a welcome event in the first semester and a networking event in the second semester.

How to Apply:

Candidates need to follow the following steps for the British Council’s GREAT Scholarship Program:

1. Visit the university page above to find out more information and then follow the link through to the university’s website.
2. Apply for individual scholarships following the instructions given on each university’s scholarship web page.
3. Individual universities will inform successful scholars of the results of their applications.
4. Scholarship funding will be issued to successful scholars by individual universities after registration.
