Are you a postgraduate and wanted to do some hands-on international experience for a short duration, then you can join the World Trade Organization. Applications are invited for the World Trade Organization internship program from all over the world. Candidates who belong to WTO-associated countries can apply for the program. Basically, World Trade Organization has announced internships of 3 kinds first, for post-graduates, Ph.D. students, and candidates who are from developing countries and have done post-graduation.

This internship program is designed to increase the diversity of the WTO programs in various fields. World Trade Organization has announced these internships in various areas of study like Trade, Law, Statistics, etc. Candidates will receive monthly insurance as well as a monthly stipend. Financial Coverage:

Candidates will get the following benefits:

  • Interns receive a daily allowance of CHF 60 (including weekends and official holidays falling within the selected period). 
  • Travel expenses to and from Geneva cannot be paid by the WTO, and such travel is not covered by the Organization’s insurance.
  • Medical health insurance coverage is mandatory in Switzerland, and interns are responsible for organizing their own health insurance prior to commencing their internship at the WTO.

Duration

the duration of the WTO internship program is up to a maximum of 6 months.

Deadline:

Intake to the WTO Internship Programme is on an ongoing basis, with no specific recruitment period or deadline. However, there may be specific vacancy notices for internship positions requiring particular qualifications and skillsets published on the WTO’s e-Recruitment website.

Eligible Criteria:

A candidate must meet the following eligibility criteria or the WTO internship program:

  • be a national of a WTO member state or a country or customs territory engaged in accession negotiations
  • have completed his/her undergraduate studies in a relevant discipline and have completed at least one year of his/her postgraduate studies
  • be at least 21 years old and a maximum of 30 years old during the internship.
