Think Big Scholarships in the UK

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates can be from any country outside the UK but must fulfill all of the following criteria:

  • Candidates must be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate

  • Candidates must have submitted a complete admission application (including the submission of references) for a full-time Master’s degree at UCL in 2024/25.

Duration:

The scholarship is tenable for one year only unless the full-time program is 2yrs in length.  In that case, the scholarship will be paid 50% of each year.

Graduate+ Scholarship:

  • ENS de Lyon offers a scholarship for the best international students selected for a Master’s degree in the Graduate initiatives CORE, DynLifeSys, MathInfi, PACE, and Master’s programs, either in M1 or M2
  • Amount: 1,000€ per month for 10 months

Woods Hole Fellowship Program in the USA 2024

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates from all over the world can apply
  • Candidates must have English or French language proficiency certificates
  • If circumstances external to the candidate do not allow him/her to provide an official language-level certification within the required deadline, a letter of explanation from the candidate accompanied by a language-level certificate signed by a pedagogical manager of his/her home university will be able to complete the file.
  • To apply for the first year of a Master’s program (M1), applicants should justify holding an L3 degree (Bachelor – 180 ECTS) or, for applicants who have studied abroad, an equivalent level.
  • To apply for the second year of a Master’s program (M2), applicants should justify holding an M1 degree (240 ECTS) or, for applicants who have studied abroad, an equivalent level.

PhD Program Scholarships:

Candidates who are going to apply for a doctoral degree will be helped by various grants and funding options.

Doctoral Contract:

A doctoral contract is a three-year employment contract under which an institution selects and hires a student to undertake doctoral studies. There are no conditions in terms of age or nationality.

Co-funding for doctoral studies:

International doctoral students wishing to enroll in a doctoral program at the ENS de Lyon can apply for the « doctoral co-funding programs of ENS de Lyon. This program can provide a co-funding of up to 50 percent of the amount required for enrolment. This scholarship is granted by the ENS de Lyon for the duration of the doctoral program (3 years maximum). In the case of internationally co-directed doctoral theses (coquilles internationales), the scholarship will only be paid during the months of presence at the ENS de Lyon.

CIFRE (Industrial Convention for Training through Research):

This convention brings together a company, a student, and a research laboratory. The PhD student is recruited and employed by the company with no conditions regarding nationality or area of research. 

Foundation and association grants

These are common in medical research. Candidates must apply for funding themselves. The funding usually requires the signature of an employment contract between the institution (or research institution) and the doctoral student.

Research grants

This type of funding, awarded to a team to support a research project, involves an employment contract between the institution (or research institute) and the PhD student.

Other Grants:

For all students enrolling in a Master’s degree or a PhD

  • The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program helps French higher education establishments attract top foreign students into their Master’s and PhD courses. For other grants offered by the Ministry, students should contact the French embassy’s cultural department in their country.

Normalien Status:

If candidates are recruited through the competitive entrance exam, they will benefit from the specific “Normalien” status:

  • For citizens of the European Union or the European Economic Area: 1,500€/month salary for 4 years
  • For students from other countries- the best candidate in each “série de concours”: 1,000€/month grant for 3 years

CUSEF Young Leaders Scholarships 2024

Applications are invited for the One Young Summit Montreal offered by the China United States Exchange Foundation from young and talented students from all over the world. The CUSEF Young Leaders scholarship program is to develop young leaders who are taking action against the biggest challenges happening around them. Each year One Young Summit program connects young leaders from 190+ different countries from all over the world to share knowledge and receive mentorship from world-renowned political, business, and humanitarian leaders.

In partnership with the China-United States Exchange Foundation CUSEF, One Young World is launching the CUSEF Young Leaders Scholarship 2024 to identify eight excellent young leaders from all around the globe. The young leaders will be selected based on their proven positive social impact in tackling global challenges such as climate change, poverty, gender equality, and public health. The scholarship will enable eight impactful scholars who are driving forward positive change to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024 happening in Canada, and Montreal and join the global One Young World Ambassador Community.

One Young Summit Program will cover the expenses of the selected leaders and provide them with all necessary facilities during the Summit Program 2024. CUSEF Young Summit Program will held in September of the academic year 2024 and candidates have to submit their applications to join by January 2024.

Eligiblity Criteria:

Leaders have to meet the following requirements for the CUSEF One Young Leaders Program 2024:

  • Candidates must be Aged between 18 to 30 years old at the time of the One Young World Summit 2024. 
  • Nationals of all countries are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 
  • Demonstrated interest in promoting East-West exchanges. 
  • Have a proven track record for leadership. 
  • Have an evidenced commitment to delivering change. 
  • Are addressing key local and/or global issues in their work.

Duration:

The period of the One Young Summit Program is 4 days from September 18 to September 21, 2024.

NL Scholarships for International Students 2024

Candidates from outside the European Economic Area EEA who want to do Bachelor’s and Masters Programs in the Netherlands are going to have a great opportunity. The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences is offering scholarships in multiple institutes of Nederlands. These scholarships anyhow are not fully funded but a specific amount will be awarded to the selected candidates for one year.

Financial Coverage:

NL Scholarships are not fully funded as it will not cover the full tuition fee. The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. Candidates will receive this in the first year of their studies.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates’ nationality is non-EEA.

Applications are invited for the Donghua University Scholarship Program under the Chinese Government Scholarship CGS and Shanghai Government Scholarship Program SGS for the academic year 2024-2025. International students who wanted to study in China. Donghua University is offering scholarships under the Chinese Government’s Ministry of Education. Candidates who want to pursue Bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. programs in China are most encouraged to apply at Donghua University. Candidates will be able to get free education in China as all expenses will be covered by the Ministry of Education in China.

The Chinese government has set up a high-level postgraduate program For the Chinese Government Scholarship Program, adopting the principle of individual application, institution recommendation, expert review, and merit-based admission to select international candidates with excellent academic background, professional ability, and future development potential studying for a master’s or doctoral degree in Chinese universities.

Global Minds Scholarship Program

 Shanghai Municipal People’s Government has set up the Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students SGS since 2006. SGS was established to fund distinctive prospective international students to pursue a degree at Donghua University. To construct the science and technology innovation center with global influence, promote international cooperation and communication, and attract more outstanding prospective international students to study in Shanghai.

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarships for international students

Almost all fields and majors are available for the Donghua Scholarship Program in China. For bachelor, Master, and PhD programs the duration will be varied from 3 to 4 years depending upon the degree and Program you are going to be enrolled in. Candidates are advised to enroll by themselves applications submitted by third parties are not acceptable. The best part is that no IELTS/ TOEFL is required for the scholarships in China.

Chinese Government Scholarship Program:

There are different criteria and financial benefits for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program at Donghua University and Candidates can pursue Master and PhD programs under CSG at Donghua University for the academic year 2024-2025.

Donghua University will cover the following benefits under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program:

  • A waiver of tuition fee;  
  • A waiver of medical insurance fee; 
  • A waiver of the on-campus dorm fee.
  • Monthly stipend (RMB3,000/month for a master’s student, RMB3,500/month for a doctoral student).

Eligiblity Criteria:

Candidates need to meet the following criteria for the CGS Program at Donghua University:

  • Candidates must be non-Chinese Citizens
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree for the Masters degree

Under Shanghai University the requirements and benefits are slightly different as compared to CGS at Donghua University. Candidates need to follow the requirements as follows:

Under Shnagi Government Scholarships two types of scholarships are offered:

  • Type A
  • Type B

Type A Coverage:

  • a waiver of tuition fee
  • a waiver of medical insurance fee
  •  a waiver of on-campus dorm fee
  • monthly stipend (bachelor’s students: 2500; master’s students: CNY 3000; doctoral students: CNY3500)

Type B Coverage:

Type scholarship coverage is partially funded under the SGS program :

Commonwealth Scholarships in the UK is also a great opportunity for international student

Eligiblity Criteria:

Candidates need to meet the following criteria for the SGS Program:

  • Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
  • Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
  • Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.
  • Be a high school graduate at least 16 years old and under the age of 25 when applying for bachelor’s programs
  • Be excellent in academic and extra-curricular performance and yet not be rewarded any other scholarships offered by the government, institutes, or organizations in China.
